The city of Hemet is centrally located in the beautiful state of California. The area has a population of nearly 80,000 residents and it is estimated that there are about 7 million people living within 100 miles. It borders Riverside to the north, San Jacinto to the south, Temecula to the west, and Beaumont to the east.

The Valley Wide Community Sports Park, which opened in September 2009, is located in the eastern section of Diamond Valley Lake. It has eight lighted baseball fields, eight soccer fields, four basketball courts, six tennis courts, seven volleyball courts, two pickle ball courts, fitness trails, three play areas, and several picnic areas.

Hemet is home to diamond valley lake, five large parks, 2 museums, and several theatres. Diamond valley lake is a project of the united states army corps of engineers and is over 2000 acres and has 35 miles of shoreline.

Hemet also boasts one of three apple farms that are located in Southern California. Some of their most popular produce are peaches, oranges, nectarines, plums, apricots, kiwi fruit, lemons, limes, grapefruits and table grapes.

Hemet’s large population of retirees is due, in part, to Hemet being home to one or more major retirement communities – Mountain View and Palm Terrace are examples. It is a great place for living due to the fact that it has “just the right” climate – warm in the summer, moderate during fall and winter, and perfect in spring.

The city of Hemet is located just about 50 miles southeast of Los Angeles with easy access to all major freeways. It is close enough for residents that they have most of the conveniences of living in a large metropolitan area, but far enough away to enjoy the serene beauty of country living.

The city is proud of its rich heritage and historic downtown district. The greater Hemet area offers over 25 neighborhoods featuring quaint storefronts, parks, fine dining, churches, movie theaters and exciting nightlife. There are festivals and parades throughout the year.
